Examination Eligibility & Age Requirement Handbook 2012
All students enrolled in any RAD Classical Ballet class must meet the following age requirements. It is also compulsory for those students wanting to sit their RAD examination, to attend all available classes for that Grade each week (with the exception of Pre-Primary in Dance and Primary in Dance).
GRADED EXAMINATIONS
Pre-Primary in Dance:
Students must be 5 years or over by 31st July 2012
Students will need to attend a 45 min lesson each week to sit their exam.
Primary in Dance:
Students must be 6 years or over by 31st July 2012
Students will need to attend at least a 1 hour lesson each week to sit their exam.
Grade 1:
Students must be 7 years or over by 31st July 2012
Students will need to attend two (2) one hour lessons each week to sit their exam.to sit their examto sit their exam
Grade 2:
Students must be 8 years or over by 31st July 2012
Students will need to attend two (2) one hour lessons each week to sit their exam.
Grade 3:
Students must be 9 years or over by 31st July 2012
Students will need to attend two (2) one hour lessons each week to sit their exam.
Grade 4:
Students must be 10 years or over by 31st July 2012
Students will need to attend two (2) one hour lessons each week to sit their exam.
Grade 5:
Students must be 10 years or over by 31st July 2012
Students will need to attend two (2) one hour lessons each week to sit their exam.
VOCATIONAL GRADED EXAMINATIONS
Intermediate Foundation:
Students must be 11 years or over by 1st January 2012
Students will need to attend two (2) lessons each week plus one (1) 1 hour combined Pointe lesson each week to sit their exam.
**Students must attend both lessons to be eligible for Pointe
Intermediate:
Students must be 12 years or over by 1st January 2012
Students will need to attend three (3) 1 hour lessons plus one (1) 1 hour combined Pointe lesson each week to sit their exam.
**Students must attend both lessons to be eligible for Pointe
Advanced 1:
Students must be 14 years or over by 1st January 2012
Students will need to attend two (2) 2 hour lessons plus one (1) one hour lesson each week including Pointe to sit their exam.
**Students must attend both lessons to be eligible for Pointe
Advanced 2:
Students must be 15 years or over by 1st January 2012
Students will need to attend two (2) 2 hour lessons plus one (1) one hour lesson each week including Pointe to sit their exam.
**Students must attend both lessons to be eligible for Pointe
Solo Seal:
Students must be 15 years or over by 1st January 2012 & hold the Advanced 2 with Distinction
