"There is a bit of insanity in dancing that does everybody a great deal of good." ~Edwin Denby
Originally created on the streets of New York, this constantly evolving style has taken dance to another level as seen in the movie "You Got Served". Emphasis is on developing individual style and technique which also includes the isolation and the controlled tensing of muscles as seen in styles like popping and locking. Hip Hop is a fresh new melting pot of mixed flavours, it includes everything from tight small movements, strength moves as seen in break dancing to smooth lyrical combinations often seen in music videos such as Usher, Missy Elliot and Justin Timberlake.
Come along and have some fun with structured moves as well as developing your confidence when freestyling.
"Dancers are instruments, like a piano the choreographer plays." ~George Balanchine |
